Mission statement:
Our goal is to make available to those who do not feel musically gifted the great joy of playing Bluegrass, a truly American form of music, either solo or in concert with others.
Bluegrass Duets was designed to teach: reading tablature, counting timing, guitar accompaniments and lead picking hand rolls. This curriculum is broad based and teaches in such a way the student learns about all three instruments at once. Although the students start with either banjo, guitar or mandolin, all that is learned on one instrument applies to the other two instruments.
Sound and video recordings reinforce what is learned from the text and music found in our instructional manuals.
All our arrangements for banjo, guitar and mandolin were written to be playable, accumulative in skills and bluegrass beautiful in sound.
These instructional manuals have proved successful in the field for individual students and in the class room at adult educations centers. After many tries in the past many students express delight with our method after achieving success for the first time. |
